A fibre build stalls in the gaps between contractors — the drill crew finishes and the splicers are two weeks out, or the locate ticket lands after the trench is open. SKATEL runs all six disciplines out of Acheson with its own crews, so the sequence is a scheduling decision rather than a negotiation. Larger drilling scopes are the one exception, supported by established partner contractors across Alberta and British Columbia.

SCOPE & ESTIMATE
We walk the print with you, confirm the territory and the disciplines involved, and price against real crew availability rather than a nominal rate. Budgetary numbers for planning, firm numbers once the design is issued.

LOCATE & PERMIT
Our own locate technicians clear the tickets — the same team that cleared 192,000 of them since 2019 — so the crew arriving to open ground is not waiting on a third party's schedule.

DRILL, PLACE & CIVIL
Directional drilling, rod and rope, cable placement and the vault and pedestal work run as one sequence under one supervisor. Hydrovac daylighting and restoration are coordinated with the drilling crew, not subcontracted after the fact.

SPLICE & TEST
Four splicing trucks, five ribbon fusion splicers, two OTDR units. Every location is traced, the power budget measured, and the results recorded against the location ID before the crew leaves site.

DOCUMENT & CLOSE OUT
A dedicated QC specialist reviews the completion package before submission — as-builts, test results, photos and ticket closures. What is reported is what happened on site, including when it went wrong.
